2. Dr. Vinay Kumaran
Dr. Vinay Kumaran in 2010 performed the first living donor intestinal transplant in India and has an experience of over 700 liver transplants and over 35 Pancreas, Intestinal and Multivisceral Transplants.
Dr. Vinay Kumaran was associated with Sri Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi as Director Surgical Gastroenterology and Liver Transplantation since 2007 before joining our Hospital
Dr. Kumaran joined the Marion Bessin Liver Research Center at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York as a post doctoral fellow working on Hepatocyte Transplantation. Two years working on basic research yielded publications in high impact journals like Nature Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Dr. Kumaran did his fellowship in Transplant Surgery, Thomas Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical. This incorporated training in liver, kidney, pancreas, small bowel and multivisceral transplantation over 2 years. He spent an elective 3rd year focusing on living donor liver transplantation and difficult liver transplants including second and third liver transplants.

Dr. Anil Vaidya is a busy man. As a transplant surgeon specialising in the treatment of multiple organs – the liver, kidneys and pancreas – he is always on call. Waiting outside his cabin at the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai are families from countries far away, like Kazakhstan and those in South East Asia.
Over the last few years, however, Dr. Vaidya has been developing a department at Apollo Hospitals as a ‘Centre for Excellence’ to treat what has previously been left to the mercy of fate – intestinal failure. “Intestinal failure is a mature topic in the West. Dr. Goyal is a graduate of KG Institute of Medical Sciences, Banagalore. He trained in General Surgery at St Stephens Hospital under the mentorship of Dr Prakash Khanduri. Subsequently he was Senior Resident in Surgical Gastroenterology at GB Pant Hospital , New Delhi before joining the DNB Superspecialty training program in GI Surgery & Liver Transplant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital ( SGRH ) where he trained under Prof Samiran Nundy.

7. Dr. Ramdip Ray
Dr. Ray is a graduate from Medical College, Kolkata. Subsequently he trained in Surgery at the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (IPGMER) and SSKM Hospital in Kolkata and then joined as Senior Resident at the University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) in Delhi.
In 2005 he underwent training in Upper GI & Laparoscopic Surgery with Mr. Andrew Baker at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital in Wales, UK. He also qualified for the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS).
Dr Ray joined a faculty position in Surgery at Medical College, Kolkata in 2005 and he was Assistant Professor there till 2010. He has the distinction of being the pioneer of establishing successful liver transplant programme in the public sector and initiating the only MCI accredited MCh course in HPB Surgery. Dr. Ravi Mohanka is the Chief Surgeon and Head of Department of Liver Transplant and Hepato-Biliary Surgery at Global Hospitals, Mumbai.
