  • Visa Applicants should fill online visa application forms and submit a print out of filled-in form with two colour photographs (51mmx51mm) and documents as specified below.



Serious ailments like neurosurgery, joint replacements ophthalmic disorders, renal disorders, cardiac problems, congenital disorders, organ transplantations, radiotherapy, plastic surgery, gene therapy and others are of primary considerations in granting a medical visa. The list of treatments is non-exhaustive.

  • The sole purpose of travel should be of having a medical treatment in India.
  • The applicant should seek medical treatment at reputed/specialized/recognized hospital in India.
  • Two medical attendants are allowed to travel with the patient. They can be his/her family members, relatives or associates.
  • Relevant letters signed and stamped from the hospital concerned in India should be provided on the letter head of the hospital/organisation with applicant’s details. Any other supporting documents from a Senegal/The Gambia/Cape Verde/ Guinea Bissau Hospital may also be provided.

Document Required:

1- The passport should be valid for at least 6 months at the time of application.
2- There should be at least two blank pages on the passport.
3- Applicant should have a sound financial standing to enable him to meet the expenditure related to visit in India.
4- A copy of ID/Birth Certificate/Residence permits /Work permit
5- Two passport size photographs (2x recent identical passport quality photographs on a white/off white background (50mm x 50mm – larger than passport size)
6- A copy of onward air ticket/tentative booking
7- All visa fees once paid are non-refundable irrespective of the outcome of the visa application and duration granted.
8- Please note that the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue of visa.
9- Payment of Visa Fees: The Embassy does not accept payment of visa fees by credit/debit cards or by personal cheques. The payment of visa fee should be made in local currency (CFA) in cash at the Visa Counter of the Embassy.
10 – All persons who want to apply for Indian Visa must get inoculated against Yellow Fever at least 10 (ten) days prior to applying for the Visa and must produce genuine & valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Card both at the Visa Counter of this Embassy and at the Indian airport/check-post of entry.
